S. Fla PBIR New Drag Race Series - The American Muscle Car Series!
We have a new drag race series starting 3/17 at PBIR!
Come on out - whether you are an experience racer or a beginner, this is the best way to test your car and yourself in a relaxed fun atmosphere. It's like a car show with a drag race thrown in.
Unlike other series, where you get two time runs then if you lose in eliminations, you're done for the evening...with our format, you keep racing as long as you want! Unlimited TnT all evening long on a competition-prepped track. No ricers tearing up the track prep. Chances are you can run 20+ runs if you want to. That's where you really learn, no hours of waiting between runs like a normal TnT night. Pull up and run.
What that translates to is if you are learning, you've got plenty of time to practice, with experienced folks around to help.
And frankly, the grudge racing with your buddies is a great side benefit.
On March 17, the President of Horsepower Sales, Jeremy Preston (several time NHRA division winner & winner of many Wallys), will be holding a FREE (included in your admission fee) class on how to drag race. That is a great value whether you want to start drag racing or if you want to hone your skills.
My friend Bob provided more details:
Hope to see you all at the track!

All American Cars, racing in what we hope to be a much bigger series than what we had before.
2012 will see a 6 race schedule to begin on MARCH 17th
Roger, Joe G., and myself will be happy to answer questions that we know will come up.

See you guys there, of course. Maybe a new PB? Maybe not with the summer coming on quickly but it will be a lot of fun to be with my old friends and meet some new ones.

Wish I could be there Joe. NMCA is that weekend at Bradenton and I also promised the wife I'd take her to see a concert.
Bump for an awesome guy and a great event

Hopefully Misty will be wearing some new sneakers. If she does in fact wear them, I'm hoping for a new best out of her.

Guess what....Brought Ron's 427 Dart powered C3 to the track last night. First run with a 150 shot..lit the tires.. went 60 feet and ripped the right rear half shaft in half. I doubt he'll be ready for Saturdays Challenge. We are going to try ...but won't be running nitrous if we make it. And yes, I'm going to be there..but without my car. Brought it to HP Sales on Monday for a tranny problem and/or torque converter. I sure hope they get to it this week and send the tranny back to Century. If for some strange reason they haven't pulled the tranny and converter...then I'll bring the car on Saturday. But I would rather that they have pulled the tranny and converter and sent it back for rebuilding. MIKE

No girl friend this weekend. Trany slips from 3rd to fourth(sometimes) and it's doing some strange things when coming to a complete stop...Seem to have a drag when in first gear. Feels like something is holding it back as if the brakes were being applied. Doesn't do it in any other gear..only in 1st gear. Torque converter starting to bang a little when tranny down shifts. Having both pulled and sent back to appropriate manufactures for a look see.

Mike the shop was like a freaking zoo yesterday. I never saw it that busy before. I left a couple hours after you. Wound up leaving the car, I felt bad for them. Had to eat his lunch more than an hour after it was delivered, HOT. Jeremy mounted the new Hoosiers to the new wheels. He sent over this picture earlier today.

Jeremy sent these 2 pictures via text a short time ago.
2001 C5 Automatic... Mods: G5X3 cam, dual springs, (heads are stock LS1 except for the dual springs) Underdrive pulley, Vararam, LG Pro long tubes, no cats, 3.73 gear, 3600 stall TC.
Last but not least, a 150 shot of nitrous using the Nano system.
Previous to the tune I have run 10.49 and speeds just over 134 mph.
