Was suppose to help a buddy of mine do a cam swap on my 11 GS today, things came up on my end so he took the car to his shop and said the swap was on him, nice. Noon, phone rings, problem one, "Your car has a 3 bolt cam", huh, all my research showed later LS3's to have a one bolt, since my car has 3k miles on it and gets driven as a toy I figured let's not rock the boat and ordered a one bolt cam, he scrambled and came up with the parts to fix it..... 3pm phone rings, "ahh this balancer won't fit, they must have changed the front cover for the dry sump", great no under drive pulley for me.. I realize a lot of guys aren't modding their GS's just yet but it amazes me what all they did to this car to make it different from the base only to sell a few hundred a year (manual tranny dry sump combo).... Think I have a tuning reservation Wed and am going to try and tune it on E85 as well.
Mod's will be , Vararam, Spin's cam, Lunati Spring package and Corn tune....

A freind of mine had the very same problem. Apparently the 6 speed manual dry sump LS3 C6's had 3 bolt cams. If you install/convert to a single bolt cam with the single bolt cam gear, you may have interference problems with the timing gear cover. If a 3 bolt cam came with the engine, you should install a 3 bolt cam back in it.

Reason: need to proof read better
Had the same problem but reversed. I bought a ZR1 cam for our 10GS. When I pulled it apart there was a one bolt cam, the new cam was 3 bolt. I just bought a 3 bolt upper gear.
Car is running fine with it's new 1 bolt cam, I guess GM feels 3 small bolts hand tightened (yeah right) is better than one larger bolt? Just glad I didn't buy the two piece timing cover I was looking at as that wouldn't have fit either...
Marc8090 you are correct GM made 1699 of the 2011 GS with M/T and therefore dry sumps, still not a lot for doing something special. Now imagine I had no idea when I bought it, I just liked the big fenders and fancy brake rotors .

Car is back, it's so quiet it's funny, guess the stock exhaust will do that. Think I am going to do the intake and TB (thanks Justin ) before I spend the $$$ on the tune this week.
I swapped in a ZR1 cam to accompany the blower I'm currently installing, and my '11 M6 GS came with a three bolt cam. Interestingly, it also uses the same balancer bolt as the Z06.
