I reviewed these NPP switch mods carefully & it looks straightforward. I've a '12 Grandsport with NPP, & no heated seats or other electrical accessories, so I used an add-a-switch in the NPP slot & wired it to a single (2 posts) micro-rocker switch. It took about an hour to get it all installed & it works great.
the reason I didn't do the fuse tap from the seat heater is mine is already being used for iPod intergration.
No need to use the heated seat circuit at all folks; ECU cuts power to the valves (opening them) AFTER the fusebox, as I said earlier. Therefore, I redid my installation the other day the proper way. And no need to go thru the trouble of wiring leads to a blown fuse either, and then add an unsightly fuse holder. Wiring an NPP switch using only the NPP fuse slot is very easy, neat, cheap, fully reversible in a minute, and the circuit is protected by the same 10A NPP fuse. If you already have the NPP switch wired to the heated seat circuit, it takes you a minute to rewire it this way. The only difference is the 'add-a-fuse' just has to be rotated 180ş (see pic below). The NPP terminal you use to connect the switch is the LEFT one in front of the fuse (not visible in the pic since the fuse is hiding it). And yes, the right terminal in front of the fuse should also be empty. So basically we're converting the 'add-a-fuse' into an 'add-a-switch'... and you can do that with any dedicated fuse you want . Very neat installation, switch looks factory, and quicker than fumbling with a remote, plus no batteries to change ever. Hope this helps folks. By the way, this was done to my '12 GS CE, but all Vettes with NPP are the same.
