I have a problem with my 2008 C6. I recently replaced the left front tire that was cut but road debris. I replaced the tire and tried to reprogram the wheel sensors. The left front wheel does not respond to my VT15 (New battery) however the remaining wheels do honk the horn. The left rear only honks once Instead of the two times indicating that all wheels have been programmed. The tire pressure for the left front wheel shows normal on the instrument panel. My question is do I have to disconnect my battery to reset the monitoring system. Also my tire sensors are approximately 1 year old. I have searched the forum with negative results on this problem. Any help would be appreciated
But I don't understand why you reprogrammed everything. You only changed a tire. There is no need to reprogram the TPMS unless you also replaced the sensor in the wheel with the bad tire.
So unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you did, I have to opine that the left front sensor may have been damaged by the tire replacement procedure.
Disclaimer: I'm not an expert on these things so you might want to be patient for member BEZ06 to chime in. He is an expert on the TPMS and might have better insight.
Thanks for the response. Before I replaced the the tire TMPS indicated xx for the left front. After I replaced the tire I tried to reset the monitor. It reads ok but the rf and lr are now reading xx. I have tried the relearn procedure several times to no avail.
Ah....okay. Well, "XX" usually means something is wrong.....bad sensor, sensor battery, etc.
Just for info here's a previous post by BEZ06 that talks about a reading of "0" vs a reading of "XX".

First of all, I assume you checked the tire pressures with a hand held gauge - all the tires!
If your DIC says it's one of the rear tires that is 0 psi, if the sensors were ever swapped around to different locations when new tires were mounted and they weren't reprogrammed, then the DIC might not be showing the correct location for the tire with low pressure.
Butt.....I think that many times when the sensor's data in the TPMS memory gets corrupted it will read zero, and all the sensors will need to be reprogrammed into the TPMS computer's memory.
I think usually when the sensors go bad (damaged, low battery) that they will read "X psi" instead of zero.
So.....I think you probably need the sensors to be reprogrammed. It's about a one minute procedure, and your local Discount Tire will probably do it for free, but many dealers will charge to do it.
The reason you aren't getting the two horn honks on the drivers rear is the car still thinks you are at the passenger rear. It's expecting you to program another sensor. The car only "knows" where the wheel is located based on you programing in the correct order. So if you started at the passenger rear and went counter clockwise all the way around the car you would still get the two horn honks when you programmed the 4th sensor and the car would be just fine with that. However the tire pressures would be correct but showing in the wrong location. Wheel speed is taken from the ABS not the TPMS sensor. Sounds like a bad senosr.

Lets see if I can describe what you are experiencing. When you tried to program the location of the left front tire into the car you don't get a horn honk, then you moved to the right front and did get a horn honk, then you moved to the right rear and got a horn honk, followed by the left rear with one horn honk. The car thinks you programmed the two fronts and the right rear and is waiting for the left rear. You can't bypass one that isn't working. Now you say your rf and lr are reading xx.
Basically, your actual rf tire pressure is being displayed as the lf pressure, if you really did get a honk when you programmed the rr then its reading is displayed as the rf tire which you say is reading xx. That might mean you need a new rr sensor as well or you need to be careful what you are doing.
It looks like you need to start with a good tire sensor for the lf. Best way to check what is going on is to get one and place it near the car and start the programming sequence again. Start with the loose sensor, then go to the rf, rr and lr. You should get 2 honks then. If one of the other sensors doesn't respond (no honk) you may need to get another sensor.
Thanks again for all of your suggestions. My left wheel sensor may be defective. Tomorrow I will place one off my wheels that I previously removed and use that one to start the sequence. I will post my results tomorrow.👍
