I have a 2007 z06. Tires are not chopped and the wheels are all balanced. At 70 mph the car is very smooth. As soon as i hit 73-80mph it sounds like i am going over rumble strips every 5 seconds. As soon as i slow down it goes away. Help would be very much appreciated thanks
it vibrates through the steering wheel as well as the seats
I would have the wheel balance checked. You need to make sure on that before doing anything else. Could be a bad shock or out of round tire. Good luck.
Tires are new wheels are new bearing are good. Thanks for the suggestions
going nuts anyone else
Mine did that and balance fixed it. I would either re-balance or have tires checked with roadforce balancer. You may have a tire that balances fine by weight but maybe out of round or has excessive roadforce.

exactly what happened to me, bought new wheels, tires etc. Finally read some theads on here and convinced the dealership it was wheel bearings. Sure enough, passenger side wheel bearing was bad and did not exhibit typical symptoms such as "looseness" and "whistling noise"
I noticed it first by driving on the interstate, noise would go away in one direction and disappear when turning the other directions. steering wheel felt like a vibrating cellphone in my palm. Started faintly at 40mph and became unbearable t 75mph and up. Good luck.
thankyou very much for all the help i took my car to get an alignment. and get the tires road force balanced again. it turns out the machine was off the first time. goes straight. 135 mph no vibrations thanks guys
that's good to know! means they had to get their balancing machine recalibrated I presume.
I personally have operated the Hunter RoadForce balancer at our local Junior College. Used it on my 2006 Corvette, 2008 Bullitt Mustang, F150 and son's Miata. I do not recall any calibration required. I would guess the operator did not have the wheel and tire assembly clamped straight or tight enough. It is possible that he used the wrong cone to center the wheel. Also it is possible he attached the weights in the wrong place. These machines are not difficult to operate, but you do have to pay attention.
This is a good reminder that just because the tech says the wheels are balanced does not mean that there can not be a problem.
I went around and around, my self, with this problem.
Mine turned out to be after market rims not seating correctly on the hub. Turned out that a strip of tape around the hub fixed the problem, rough vibration above 70 mph.
