Default Headers - (stainless works) brands ?

OK local speed shop here: National Speed, Wilmington, NC sells and swears by Stainless Works products (can get a complete soup to nuts system) 3 inch from start to finish.

Question: Anyone have this system? Thoughts, opinions...?

thx

(UPDATE: these MF’s wanted +8 hours to install so this went South)

I had SW headers on my 5th gen and they were great quality and installed with ease. They are very high quality. A friend of mine owns a shop and that's the brand they sell the most of.

OK found this on the site ... I have reviewed and searched found nothing but 100% positive comments about everything from products, weld quality, fit and finish, and in house customer service ... Needless to say i have to give these headers a good HARD look at this point must pronounce they are the leader of that pack, build quality is same as other major manufacturers and HP gains as well.

Stainless Works are good headers.

As long as headers will bolt up and fit they're fine by me. They'll all basically do the same thing.

I couldn't justify spending the extra cash over Texas Speed headers. I am very happy with the TSP's as well and I'm gambling on how well they hold up compared to stainless headers.

I've had the system, minus their mufflers, on my car since 06' without issue. I've overlayed numerous graphs and they seem to provide me with similiar power to the other big names out there. Only reason I would get rid of mine would be for 1 7/8 primaries but then again I haven't seen the worthwhile gains of doing that.

Been happy with mine although I have contemplated doing some ceramic coating, for the heat benefit claims, on them but still torn there.

All in all, love my SW system.

Would not never buy Stainless Works product again. Bought a pair for my 04 Z06, they looked nice and had them installed. AT start up, bad leak at joint even though the company claims they "flow test" every set. B.S. However, they did buy them back. That didn't help the cost of the install and taking them back off and then having pair of LG's installed.

Well - first person I have had so far to have negative post... buying from a speed shop so they are responsible for anything re: product condition, won't effect my cost either way -

NOBODY makes a perfect product 100% of the time. It happens. The fact that they bought them back speaks to their business etiquette.

I went with American Racing Headers. One reason I did, and did not go with SW is because I'm leery of slip fit joints leaking. The ball joints on the ARH are easier to install and don't leak.

Any benefits to ceramic coating your product when looking for reduced underhood temps specifically?

Two big benefits to coating a stainless header. The first, of course, is it means you don't get the champagne effect and they stay nice and shiny. These headers don't rust, so there is no anti-corrosive benefit.

The other benefit being that the coating reduces the temperature of the primary tubes by about 300 degrees in normal applications. While there hasn't been a substantial amount of testing to prove how that transfers to over-all under-hood temperatures, a 300 degree drop on the outside of the headers means we are keeping more energy inside the exhaust (and improving exhaust velocity because of it) and less from heating up the engine compartment.

We carry Stainless Works products as well and have had many satisfied customers. They use high quality material and their welds are top notch. Their axlebacks have a killer sound as well. Can't go wrong with their S-Tube turbo mufflers for a nice aggressive sound!

Thanks for the quick reply. This should help me finally decide what I want to do and that is reduce underhood temps by coating the headers. I'll give it a try and see what happens.
