I'll try and keep this short. I did quite a few mods over the winter and had my console out a few times. I noticed now that even with the car off, if I listen near the radio/ ac vent area I hear what sounds like a fan running very low or something electrical humming very low. Its possible the car always did this and I just never noticed but now after sitting for a week my battery went dead and I'm thinking its related.
Could someone please check if all vettes do this. Its something one might never notice but can be heard if listening for it. I want to rule this out as causing my dead battery if its normal.
Thanks in advance for any help.
If you have nav I can hear the DVD spinning up in mine when I open the door there could be a hard drive in the nav. Either way I can hear what you might be hearing.

Interesting. I do have nav and never thought of that. But would it spin all the time even with the ignition and engine off?
Hey - that's what you get for living up there on the tundra where you can't drive it for 6 months!!!!
You need to move down here so you. A drive year 'round!!
I looked in your profile and you've got a lot of really neat mods on the car!!!
You shouldn't have any noise like that when the car is shutdown.
Info I was looking for in your profile wasn't there. So - do you have a Nav system???
If so, I'm wondering if somehow the unit is still powered up and either the nav DVD is running, or if you have a CD in it maybe the CD player is running.
If you do have a nav, try removing the nav DVD and any CD that might be in the unit and see if the noise goes away.
Just guessing here, and trying to think of something to check!!
OK..... I've said it before and I'll say it again.
CF is the best. Once again you guys come through.
Here's the deal. When you open the door, even with the key off, the cd and/or nav start up and the disc spins a bit. After maybe 20 seconds it shuts down and is silent again. For some reason mine wasn't shutting down. I removed and replaced the nav and a music cd and its working properly again.

Good luck!!

I love Florida. Kept a boat there for years and spent lots of time there. One of these days I may make that move but I love everything here other then the winter!
I'm glad you got that noise figured out - love to hear of a success story from forum advice!!
I just had folks from Ontario buy a house across the street. They'll be spending a couple months here and a couple months there throughout the year - and I'm sure a couple of the months here will be during the winter!!
