Default Telescoping Steering Wheel Issue

My steering wheel has stopped telescoping on my ZR1. Completely. I checked the fuses and they look ok. I'm wondering, I just replaced my A Pillars with DSV recovered ones. Does any of the wiring that feeds the steering wheels run thru the pillars and I may have crimped a wire? Odd that it just quit.

I guess I'll have to take it to a dealership (darn it).

There is a module under the seat that also controls the tel wheel along w/ easy exit.
I do not beleive any wiring under the A pillar will affect the tel wheel.

Also, with a Tech 2 you have to "turn on" the tel wheel.

Dealer is more than likely best option unless you see a wiring issue under the seat.

The easy exit still works as I checked that last night.

I have it set to move back each time I exit the car. On the ZR1 you have to always push 1 with parking brake engaged in order for the seat, mirrors, wheels to move into the set position. All of that works - just not the wheel. It won't work with the manual button on the side either.

Looks like a trip to a dealership - I hate that.

The telescope wheel has connections that are in the connector under the seat. If you move the seat often, it is likely that the problem is located there. If it is important to you that you not take it to the dealer, then I suggest pulling the seat and checking those connectors. They are a common problem area. In a normal GM car, there is lots of room under the seat for cables and connectors to move freely. The C6 seat is squeezed down to give maximum headroom, this can cause problems with connectors getting pulled on and wires getting pinched.

Thanks! I may look myself and see what I can see before I resort to the dealership idea.

You might first try moving the seat all the way up, vertically, then move it fore and aft while trying to move the telescoping wheel. Intermittent movement of the wheel will confirm that the problem is under the seat.
