My cruise control has been inoperative ever since I had a cam and gears installed on my MN6 Z51. I suspect something related to the tune, but my installer says that nothing related to cruise should have changed. My installer isn't exactly close by, so I've chosen to live with it rather than take it back... the car is running great otherwise, and I'm pleased with the results...
Here's my question... is it likely that a tune would be the culprit? I find it hard to believe that this is a coincidence, and if a re-tune would sort this out, that'd be a great excuse for a ported FAST 102.
Fuses are good, clutch position sensor is good according to my local dealership... is there anything else I should check?
My first thoughts were clutch position switch and brake switch. You've already checked one, I would check the other. A common test is to hold the brake and/or clutch pedal all the way up and try to engage the cruise control. If it works it's one of those switches.
Tried pulling up on the pedals without success. Also tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal and made sure the taillights are functioning...
I received a PM from another forum member saying that an issue with his tune killed his cruise, so perhaps that's my issue after all. If there are any other 'simple' causes I should check, please let me know...
