Borla S type 2... How much louder with longtubes
Ok so i have borla s type 2's on my car i want to add lg street series vararam cai and maybe fast 102, my question is how much louder will the axle back become? i am not sure if i will use cats or not. my only reservation with the cats is i dont want to smell gas in the car. i really dont care about being louder i kinda want it lol so if anyone could tell me what percentage louder this will become i would love to hear from you, thanks.

I don't have an S type, but my Borla Stingers sounded great when the car was stock. After installing LG street series headers, it sounded like a NASCAR with more than 15% throttle - way too much for me. I swapped to Borla Touring within the week. The Touring setup with headers sounded very similar to the Stingers did with a stock motor.
Hope that helps a bit.

Just a update, put on obx longtubes no cats, sounds amazing. The sound is a lot differant and much more muscle car sounding. Put the headers on in apartment parking lot, got the car 15 inches off the ground by using 6 2x12x16 under each tire. Fit was good no major issues with the install. Did take 8 hours with the help of a friend/coworker. We are both Toolmakers and mechanics, not used to working on cars but we build and repair machines daily so not that much of a stretch. THE ONE THING I WILL STRESS IS KEEP THE SLAVE CYLINDER HOSE FOR THE HYDRAULIC CLUTCH AWAY FROM THE HEADERS. I MELTED THE HOSE DRIVING THE NEXT DAY AND SPENT 1600 TO GET IT FIXED AT PAUL MASSE CHEVY. The mechanic told me had I moved the hose a 1/4 inch away from the header I would have been fine. Live and learn I guess.
