A6 hitting rev limiter WOT

Doing some spirited driving on an empty road Ive noticed a couple times now Im hitting the rev limiter WOT while in S mode, but not using the paddles, this is from a roll on. I back off and resume normal driving and all is fine. I may have smelled something hot but when parked I could no longer find the scent.

I have a tune so maybe it just needs adjusting, am I not alone here?

Its an 07 with 41k...

Is traction control turned on or off?, If it's not turned off, trans will not shift with tires spinning.

If you are sure TC is off and its only in S and not drive, I would check what the shift points are set at. Maybe they are too high in S mode and with the delay in the shift it allows it to rev to the limiter.

TC was off on this event, the others I dont recall. I go into tuner this week for a tranny cooler coincidentally, hopefully its just the shift points.

There was another recently with this same problem... they havent answered yet their solution, but was leaning towards tune/shift points..

Local tuner/vendor. Idk but the engine was still spinning with no shift in site and I was just in the red.

Different rear end ratio?

Make sure the rear end ratio of your car matches the rear end ratio of the transmission tune that was put in your car. If not, the rpm/speed values will not match and you can hit the rev limiter without satisfying those requirements.
