Default Battery replacement

Changed out the battery in my '05 this afternoon.....original Delco from June '05.....that's almost seven years & it was still going strong! Admitedly she's a weekend driver with only 31K miles & I've used a battery tender every winter, but that's still excellent battery life. Decided not to tempt fate as Summer approaches & installed an Optima Red Top. Didn't take any special precautions during the swap out & despite various posts about losing DIC readings or radio settings or whatever, I had no problems at all. Just re-indexed the windows & done.....just like any other Chevy!

I just did the same thing, but I went with a yellow top. The only thing I had to do was re-index the windows like you.
No memory features were lost, including all the stored locations on my navigation system.

Your battery life is exceptional. After years of owning cars and trucks, and three Vettes, my experience has taught me that once a battery approaches around 40 months of use, assuming it's never been repeatedly drained flat, it can be expected to fail. It can start your engine normally for your trip downtown, then be flat dead when you attempt to start the vehicle for the return home. Just to be safe, I generally replace them around 36 to 38 months.
