Default Performance shop in San Diego?

Anyone here know of any reputable performance shops in the San Diego area (that deals mainly with corvettes) .

Not really, unfortunately.

Come up north just over an hour and you have Cunningham Motorsports in Temecula, you have Haddad Motorsports in Inglewood, you have Competition GT in Costa Mesa, and a little further north than that you have RPM Motors in Santa Clarita, along with A&A Corvette in Oxnard, further yet.

Down your way, not much going on.

Granted I do my own work, it's nice to have a knowledgeable shop around if needed or a place that may have a odd part in stock.

"I haven't seen it, therefore it doesn't exist".

Agreed about there being limited options south of LA, but if you've never seen any nasty LSX cars come out of any of the other shops I mentioned, then you're just out of touch. No offense.

Here's a couple CMS randoms you're welcome to peruse:

http://cunningham-motorsports.com/ga...omer-cars.html

Haddad:

http://haddadmotorsports.blogspot.com/

As far as CompGT, Mike up there is known in the earlier LS community for being one of the most honest and well priced tuners/builders around. His work usually comes in quite a bit cheaper than other shops quotes. I don't know if anyone has built any big stroker or high boost forged cars out of that shop so I can't comment. But that doesn't speak to one's ability to tune PCM's, IMO. At least not those of mild-build cars.

Everyone's entitled to their "opinion", but an opinion that flat out defines a grouping of tuners or shops as "not worth a crap" simply because you don't get out much is, well.... a bunch of crap.

I'm far from out of touch when it comes to lsx performance and your history lesson was nothing new to me. I stand by my earlier comments and you are entitled to your opinions as well. If I were the op my dollar would go to A&A and a little drive north.

You would probably get more qualified responses by posting in the Southern California section of the forum. I know there are a lot of SD area people that frequent that section.

Thank all of you for your input! I am still new to this forums, so not sure how to navigate it. I figured a drive somewhere outside was one inevitable. I will actually speak with all these shops since I am a meticulous shopper. Thanks again!!!!

I would like a mild street car. Somewhere in the 400rwhp area.

There are a number of shops that do excellent work in SO CA (along with some I wouldn't have touch a lawnmower). Many of them don't get mentioned because they are not forum sponsors and quite frankly are busy and don't need to spend time/energy on the forums.

One example, Westech Performance in Mira Loma. They have been around a long time, have an incredible amount of tuning experience. They are featured in various magazines often, are the go to for a lot of engine component testing and have more equipment than three of the most well known shops in SO CA on this board (two of which you mentioned). Yet few on this forum know anything about them. Guess it keeps rates/availability reasonable for the rest of us.

This area of the state/country is full of well qualified, experienced fabricators, engine builders, tuners, etc. The few mentioned on the board are just a handfull among many.

Thats easily done. If you wanted to travel we could handle it for you.
I can coordinate things for you if you want, your looking at a few bolt ons maybe a cam and tune. What about handling, are you satisfied there?
