What are your long term power goals with the car? Do you eventually plan on supercharging or just keep it bolt-ons? I recall someone doing a before/after dyno of 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" headers on a supercharged LS2 and seeing little to no power difference. I beleive his car was already making close to 600rwhp too, so the difference might be negligible.

As far as which brand, I honestly don't think you'll go wrong either way. I would look for a good used set of headers. This way you'll save some money and not have to worry about fitment and quality issues with the "other" brands.

I may add a converter & a cam later, but no blower plans as of now.

I've been looking for used, but coming up empty so far & it looks like MD Speed has a nice sale on Kooks right now

Does one have any advantages over the other? I will be going w/a catted mid-pipe & would like to add a Corsa axle-back.

Also, am I better off going 1 3/4" or 1 7/8"?
What about LG Street Series if your goal is 500 RWHP or less then they might be what your looking for. I just picked up a set with cats for 1400.00.

What possible fitment issues?

I haven't heard of any.

I'm not spending $1,400 on headers.

The Kooks and ARH aren't going to be much cheaper. Kooks headers and catted x pipe cost $1700 and no cats cost $1400. Same pricing for the LG super pro's. All pricing came from Maryland Speed. I looked on American Racing site for prices and they. It's around the same too.

You're not getting kooks or ARHs then unless you pick up some used ones (which is a fine option as well...that's what I did).

I can buy a used mid-pipe. Don't have to buy new.

But you will spend $1200.00 (or even $700.00+ used) on a cat back?

True.
Of course even a used Kooks catted mid pipe (that fits those Kooks long tubes) is still well over $300.00 (plus shipping if it's not local, and then you won't even know if the used cats are clogged or even crushed inside) so yes, you might actually be spending $1400.00 on headers LOL.

There's far more difference in cat-backs compared to headers.

I rather buy a good set of headers any day over a cat back.

Who wouldn't?

A good set of headers doesn't need to be $1500 though.
