Awhile ago I purchased A double roller timing set from SLP part number 5615T.. When I received the item I noticed it didn't have the cam sensor lobes.. I didn't think anything of it because SLP seemed like a well known company and thought it Would work.. Well I took the car to rpm in reighly,nc and they informed me about the cam sensor code.. After talkin with them and after some research, and it turns out I'm screwed.. Well now I'm trying to find another timing set and I yet again almost ordered the wrong one.. If anyone can help me with this issue please do so.. Also does the cam lobes have to match the stock 06 ls2 cam lobes?

Just use a Katech C5R chain and the stock cam gear. Slap it on and you're good to go. No worries about spacers or grinding the cover associated with some of those double roller timing sets. But - that's just me.
Matt, I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say good luck with it. I hope someone can chime in with a pay-it-forward help. I have my stock timing set but it's a 1 bolt cam gear design and I know you have a 3 bolt cam.
Thanks Justin..I already have car torn apart and I'm just waiting to get a good answer from this.. Well The other double roller I found is SLP part #55003.. Said, basically the same stuff.. For 05-06 ls2 engine but yet compatible with the 05-05 corvette and 05-06 gto... It confuses the crap out of me.. The cam lobs on the cam gear don't look the same as the stock
I gave up on calling slp and called Texas speed.. They hooked me up with everything I need to swap the timing set.. Apparently the 06 ls2 corvette timing set with the 4x roclator wheel is the same as the ls3. They also took some time to answer a few tech ?'s about my build..
Yep and if only I would of called them from the beginning... I spent more on the Timing set I already have installed then I did on the one they found me with all the gaskets This is a good thread for anybody wanting to go with the double roller timing set up for an 06+ls2. I sure hope anyone wanting to do this will look at this thread before they make the same pain aging mistake as I did.. The c5r chain would of been the best option IMHO
Also note that all aftermarket LS cams will have the squiggly 1x cam sensor pickup on the rear in order to be used on the 3rd gen blocks where the cam sensor is on the rear of the block but some stock cams will not. IE: If you swap an LS9 cam into a 3rd gen block there is no pickup for the rear cam sensor because the LS9 has it up front.

Lastly, the double roller timing sets come with spacers for the oil pump to clear the double rollers. It is possible to put the drivers side spacer backwards which will effectively block off a lot of the oil pump's output.
See the three hole spacer in this picture. Its possible to put it in upside down and you will not be able to tell after it's on but the oil outlet hole is not lined up with the pump.
