LS2 A4, operating temperatures
What are the operating temperatures for an LS2 with the A4 automatic transmission.
Oil Temp
Coolant Temp
Trans Temp
I ask b/c I think I am running hot but since I'm not sure what the "OK" temp. range is I really dont know.

used to drive around at 195 then it would go up to about 205 in stopped traffic. (this is coolant, I never noticed the other temps)
But yesterday in traffic all 3 temps went up to 225°F. But this morning while cruising to work I was at 198-200 coolant temp.
I think I need todo drain my coolant and refill with new. Is it necessary to do a flush or can I just let it drain and then add new?

I believe the stupid fan doesn't turn on until 225ºF, so it has to be normal, although I don't personally like it that high. I finished my break-in yesterday on a mountain road, and saw the oil temperature climb to 228ºF (coolant 225º), even though ambient temperature was 60ºF, and I didn't exceed 4K rpm (between 3 and 4K tackling the twisties). I was a little worried, but then remember this information from my C5 days years ago.
Since I don't want to touch my car during warranty, the solution is to turn the A/C on, which automatically turns the fan on high speed, which doesn't happen on its own until 235ºF, I believe. Somebody either correct me or confirm this please. Good luck.

Anyway, you are within normal operating temps.

Your temps are normal.
If you want it a bit cooler just mix more water into the mix. Do a 70/30 mix instead of 50/50. It isn't a bad idea in Houston 100+ degree summers.
I'll be draining my coolant this weekend to refill 100% with water. The supercharger runs a bit warm and I don't want any issues this summer.

Your temps are normal.
If you want it a bit cooler just mix more water into the mix. Do a 70/30 mix instead of 50/50. It isn't a bad idea in Houston 100+ degree summers.

I was just having a small problem with the engine and hanging RPMs. I thought "seems hot" but its not. The problem is I have a vacuum leak at with my Vararam Throttle Body Spacer, it has a cracked down the center.
