So I ordered and recieved them after reading all the post about how well they fit. Did tons of searching, talking to members, and all seemed well. Got them in and the quality seems great! I bought new boults as I knew the ones that came with it kinda sucked, and I ordered the front o2 exts. But now I stumbled into a few post talking about "changes" to the X pipe in 08-09? And Im wondering if they will fit my 2011??? Id hate to rent the lift, get it all apart only to find out that they dont fit! ANy help here guys? Thanks!
Well looking at LG's and ARH's sites they both show 2005-07 and 2008-12 sections! Not looking good on the fit! Too bad too because they are really nice headers! Im going to call and see about a return tomorrow!
I just put headers on my 2011 a few weeks back. I was mistakenly sent the wrong x-pipe. The quickest way to tell if it will fit is to look at the rear end of x-pipe where it mounts to the mufflers, if the pipes are bent symetrically you should be good to go. The older, incorrect system had one fairly straight pipe and one bent pipe.
I chose to do mine in the garage vs on base just because of the unknowns. It worked out in the end since everything went pretty badly and my car was down for a week. Some of the issues I ran into were a crossthreaded forward o2 sensor from the factory, wrong x-pipe, poor fitment of the pipes to the high flow cats, and shoddy clamps that weren't up to the job of keeping the slip joints even remotely tight. I was dumb and fought with the nuts that hold the stock cats and headers together before I finally went out and bought some PB Blaster. I secured my harness extensions for the rear O2 sensors using some Adel clamps along the tunnel plate and zip ties where appropriate. Without cats this isn't an issue. If you have everything you need before hand, using a lift will make the job a lot less frustrating. If you plan on using a mail order tune like I did, don't forget to disconnect the battery after you upload the tune and before you start the car. The instructions that came with my tuning program left that important step out.
Yea as it turns out the obx won't work with my 2011. The xpipe is different. Rather than mess with it I decided to just return it and get the arh's from Lethal Racing. I should have just listened to Shawn in the first place! I will say though that the obx's look great, and if you own a 2005-2008 then I would buy them over the big names and wouldn't think twice! I cant speak for the catted version since mine were straight pipes, but they seemed nice! They just don't offer them for the 2009+. I refuse to use a set not built for my car! Lethal did my whole SC build so I'm sure I'll get a great price on the headers! I was already planning on driving up Friday for a tune, so now I don't have time to order them, wait to get them, Install them, then drive up for the tune Friday! I'm going to call Shawn today and have them sent to his shop. Then have the guys install and tune at the same time. Just works better with my busy work schedule.
Just installed OBX's on my 2011 Grand Sport on Friday, I went with the zo6 kit and installed a set of take off zo6 mufflers at the same time, fit fine. The clamps are cheesy but we used hi temp sealant at all removable joints and welded the x-pipe joints. So I now have the 1-78 headers, 3" mid pipe and zo6 exhaust, total price $976 shipped, not to shabby. One reason I went large was the fact the car may see a blower or larger ci in the near future.
Ineresting. All info I could find including OBX's site said that the 2009+ was changed and fit different. I also found a few sites where people "got them to work" but the fit was off. There was some cut/rewelding that had to be done. The fit on the 2005-2008's was great tho. I didnt take it to the lift and pull it all apart to check. I am waiting for the ups return lable now and a getting a full refund. Ive already ordered the LG super pro through Lethal Racing as well. 1 7/8 catless. Was a CLOSE decision between those and the ARH. If the system was offeded for my model year I would have used them. Interesting that yours mounted right up! Maybe the z06 kit is different? Not a risk I was willing to take. You cant go wrong with LG, but your going to pay for it!

Even stranger now is that I just looked and OBX doesnt even show a z06 system or a 3" xpipe on their site??? Where did you get it from? Maybe they offer more than they show on their site? I have no idea. Im happy I decided to just get the LG's now, but Id like to help make sure everyone has all the info to make their own decision later! Its been a PITA since i bought new GM gaskets at the dealer (still need to return) bought front o2 exts (still need to return) and then returning the headers after I get the lable. I also bought better bolts for the kit too. Spent hours running around getting it all together, and now I need to return it all. I couldve just bought the LG's and got everything in one kit and KNOWN it would fit! I was actualy looking forward to doing the install myself, but now I dont have time before my retune I scheduled next friday! So I ordered the LG's from Shawn direct to his shop and Im just having Lethal install and tune the same day. My work schedule is nuts and its not easy to find time to make the 10hr round trip! I still was impressed with the quality of the OBX system. Its funny you mention the clamps sucking because I went to Autozone to get "better" ones and when I showed the clamps to them they said they were great and I shouldnt replace them? If they DO offer a 2009+ system that would be great info for the forum. I just dont have time to mess with it any more! I didnt order direct so I havent talked to them about options. Im sure I'll be happy with the LG's tho!

Saw them on ebay listed in the $700's called a few site sponsors and one I had done biz with before sold them to me in the low $600's. I picked up a used ZO6 muffler set for a few hundred, new gaskets and front 02 extensions then had it all shipped in.
Bare Essentials (Cajun) called OBX to confirm they would fit, and they did.
Well thats good info for the next guys that want to buy! If you can get a Z06 3" set up then Im SURE they have a base C6 2.5". I would DEFFINATLY call before ordering though! Mine was through another site (non vendor), but paid about the same. $654 shipped. I still say this is a great system. Just gotta be SURE you get the right fit. I didnt know a site vendor had them or I would have bought them there. Thanks again.
