I ran last night and got a personal best again. Made 5 runs and the first was the worst. I had forgotten to remove my filter element on the first pass.
10.70(filter on) 1.43 124.00mph
10.65 1.42 124.22mph
10.66 1.43 124.20mph
10.64 1.42 124.34mph
10.61 1.42 124.59mph
the DA was 900 on my last pass. I wish I had gotten to run last week in a zero DA condition! My scans show that my 60-118mph times were 6.6s on the 10.68 run 2 weeks ago and in zero DA they were 6.1s. And as a side note on my 10.61 run they were 6.3s which makes me believe that if I do get to run in better air that I might see a 10.56 or 10.57!!

thanks guy! Theres no doubt in my mind after reviewing my run scans it has a 10.55-10.56 in it at a zero DA .... but I may never get one 1! Its unbelievable how well these stock L92/L76 parts run. I cheaped out and put stock head gaskets when I did the head swap instead of thinner ones so I know the compression Is lower than stock right now. Id did take .030 off of them but that's not enough to even get back to stock comp.
A thinner gasket would definitely help. Have you calculated your SCR and DCR? How close are you on PTV? Is there even room for a .040 Cometic in there without notching the pistons?
I fly cut the pistons right in the car .060 just in case. I have been told that .030 off the L92s doesn't quite get you to 10.9CR with stock gaskets... maybe closer to 10.6CR. So far pulling my vararam filter out of the car has netted .05 improvement both times that I tried it. Also I have been against a wall in that no matter what changes I make to my tune it never really responded....that is until I removed the filter. Now every time I make a tune change it improves or falls off. Apparently the filter was only allowing X amount of air in. The car used to run the same ET and MPH whether it was 60* or 90* Maybe that alone will help someone else who seems to have that issue. I wonder how much better it would run with a ported intake...hmmm.......
Greats runs man. Love the Auto!!
Running my Silverado with a Yank 3400 Pro stall and can't get my sixty below 1.53. That 4000 of yours is launching hard. Might be time for a change.
the rear wheels are c5 Z06 fronts that I painted black with 275/40/17 hoosiers. they Rock!
the trans is stock except when when we pulled the trans out to do the converter swap I left my garage to go get some dex6 and when I got back my trans was totally apart. My buddy knows transmissions and when I got back I said "why did u take it apart?" he "oh I just wanted to see how everything looked inside" . I bet I wasn't gone 15 minutes and it was totally apart! to answer your question the only thing he did besides look at it was put borg warner 3-4 clutches and a borg warner sprag...he said the sprag is the weak link. the total parts cost was about $44.
Get the Yank ss4000. I couldnt be happier. Dave a great guy to deal with at yank too!
