Default LS3 injector question

Ok, so a few months back I threw a rod in my LS6 (03z). Well tomorrow I'm driving to OK to pick up an LS3 from a 2010 Camaro 6spd.

I have a cam that I was planning on putting in my LS6 but didn't get the chance to before the motor went. I have SVO 30 injectors now (they flow 36# on the C5 fuel system) as it was generally recommended to change out injectors if doing a head/cam package to keep the duty cycle from being up at the 100% mark.

Well here's a few questions:

1) It's my understanding that the LS3 has 43# injectors....is that correct?
is it the same for the Camaro?

2) Will the stock injectors be adequate with putting my cam in this LS3? I may do some head work as well....

3) Anyone know what the stock cam specs are off hand?

4) Also anyone know what the compression of the LS3 is, and is it the same for the Camaro?

Figured the C6 section might have these answers. I know little to nothing about these motors as I have spent the last few years with my head stuck in the C5 section...

Any help would be appreciated

So no one here knows whether or not the stock injectors are adequate for a head cam package?

Am I in the wrong section here?

The stock LS3 injectors are 42lb injectors and are more than adequate for about 500-525 rear wheel. You will be fine with a H/C setup, but be sure and check the duty cycle when you're on the dyno.

Oh and the LS3 in the camaro is the same as in the vette as far as I know. I do not know of any differences.

The stock cam specs are 204/211 .551/.525 117, and the compression is 10.7:1

is the response given above still the concensus? I'll be right at 520-530ish rwhp when said and done with mine. Getting differing opinions talking to different people on this.

Just have to look at the duty cycle while tuning.

"just" is a touchy word here. It would really suck to spend the money to tear the thing apart and put it back together, and tune, only to find out that you're out of injector, and have to spend another 2 grand on parts and labor to rectify the problem.

An LS2/3 engine will be fine with LS3 injectors as long as it is naturally aspirated.

Hmmm. $2000 for a set of injectors. where do you shop for car parts? Lots of tearing things apart to swap injectors. what does it take, 30 minutes? and $400 for injectors?

Contact your tuner. He will have an injector preference for tuning and size purposes. If he doesn't, you need a different tuner.

was referring to parts and labor on fuel pump and injector replacement. my understanding is, if one is overtaxed, so is the other.

LS3 and LS7 injectors are the same. I've seen lots of pretty salty LS7 builds and never a mention of an injector upgrade. Mild LS7 build goes where an aggressive LS3 build can't. No need to upgrade the injectors on an N/A LS3 build.

Upping injectors doesn’t mean you need to upgrade pumps. In an LS1 build I did I had to replace the original 28# injectors (were at 100% duty cycle) with 36# injectors during the tune. No issues after that and never touched the pump.

As far as the C6 .... The LS2, LS3 and LS6 injectors are rated at there normal operating fuel pressure of 58 PSI

Stock LS3 Injectors ... 41.7 Lb/Hr @ 58 PSI (438 cc/Min)
_________________________________

See Chart Below ... Looks like the LS3 injectors will support 567 Flywheel HP (Approx 493 RWHP) at 85% Duty Cycle

BTW ... The chart below don't show it, but ... At 90% Duty Cycle, the LS3 injectors should support 600 Flywheel HP (Approx 522 RWHP)

You answered my question. Almost all injectors are rated at 43.5, leave it to GM to screw with the rating. Thanks.
