Default Disable A6 paddles?

I never use them, but sometimes I bump them and the car downshifts and then bounces off of the rev limiter before I realize it. (I hope that does not hurt the engine!)

Is there a fuse I can pull or a wire I can snip?

Thanks!

With your late-model tranny the paddles will work briefly in D.

But after about 10 seconds the tranny will return to auto.

I know the later cars now also have use of the paddles in 'D' as well as 'S' but I didn't know that it was only short term like that.

You should be able to just disconnect the wires to the paddles. You'll need to pop the air bag off and remove the painted spoke ends on the steering wheel to get at the paddle and the connectors.

Zip-Corvette's how-to on installing their paddle-shift inverter thingie (a nice product, btw) shows how to do all that. It's really much easier than the novice might think.

Hold the steering wheel properly and you wont have to disconnect anything.I have never heard of anything so ridiculous.G.M obviously didnt just stick paddles on there for people to hook on them by accident. The guy either has chubby fingers or is putting his hands in the wrong place. It is amazing what some people write about in some of their posts.

It's easy to do if you're turning the steering wheel hard enough to make a 90°. Ask me how I know. And I don't have chubby fingers.

Lighten up a little about something you don't really know a whole lot about.

You can disconnect the wires @ the paddle shifters.

Here is a link on how to change the paddle shifters without buying a modified shifter
