You can definitely adjust the ride height of any C5/C6 Corvette with the factory ride height adjustment bolts. Just keep in mind that the farther you lower the vehicle the more suspension travel you effectively tune out. With limited suspension travel the car will be much more likely to ride off the bumpstops during normal driving, which can create funny handling charactaristics as well as poor ride quality.
Our advise with the lowering bolts is that a little is good... .25 or .75 inches or so should be perfect. Much more than that and you're running the risk of deteriorating not only ride quality but your handling as well. The best way to get the car lower than the stock lowering bolts really is with a coilover package specifically designed with the suspension travel needs of your Corvette in mind... like our FeatherLight Generation Singles.
perfect...i appreciate everybody's help! i will probably just go about .75" at first. then when i get some more funds together i will go the coilover route
Anyone know if lowering it .25"-.5" increases or decreases camber & toe??
On my '12 GS 6spd I was able to lower it, but w/ only two turns in the rear before they max'd out. I went 3 turns lower in front & there are still more threads showing...
After 100 miles of driving it's lower by @ .25"...I still need to get it track weighed & aligned however.
Lowering USUALLY increases camber and toe, but if you are out just by dropping on stock bolts...I'd bet you were setup at the max from the factory anyways.
Do you have the mr suspension? If so, can this still be done? I have heard that lowering on a mr suspension is a big no no unless you also adjust the sensors.
