Default best fire extinguisher mount?

Looking for a fire extinguisher mounth. I've searched the forum and come up with some options - but all of them limit the forward seat adjustability.

Anyone have a sturdy fire extinguisher mount that attaches to the front of the seat rails, that does not limit the forward movement of the seat (either driver or passenger)?

I have Caravaggio race seats and the driver seat retains the electronic adjustment. Passenger seat is manual. I'd like a mount I can leave in the car, but remove the fire extinguisher when it's not needed.

I could mount it on the harness bar but am concerned if the mount fails it becomes a projectile in a bad place that could kill someone. On the floor - in a front end collision - at least it's less likely to cause personal injury (although in any collision if the mount fails it'll be bad).

I'd also like it to be reasonably within reach. Obviously I'd have to release my harness to reach it from any location (even at my feet). Mounting it to the center of harness bar means I'd have to turn around - not easy.

Looking for ideas - especially with photos (or link to photos/product site/info).

I have had one in my vehicles since 1971 never used it once

yes I'm happy about it but odds are it will never be needed

that said I'm thinking he means on the street. My take is any mount that lets it fly off is mot acceptable

the Brey-Krause does limit forward movement of the seat unless your real short it isn't a problem the roll bar mounting is ok but not a easy to access neither mount will come out quickly although the roll bar mount probably is easier to remove and reinstall.

I have mine mounted in the rear compartment right there between the driver and passenger seats. All I have to do is turn around and grab and go. Its mounted against the front ridge of the rear area that touches the seats.

Right - you never DO know when it's needed. I meant for track use. I need one for tech inspection (sometimes) but might not keep it in for street driving/ running to get groceries or do errands.

My thought is that I'd need it if I'm in the car and cannot exit and need to keep the fire off me until help arrives (if I'm lucky). It's less about the car. That's what insurance is for.

I'm 5'4" (female) so yep - short, and I need the seat far enough forward for threshold braking (and depressing clutch).

Vetteplay - how is it attached? Photos? With the bolsters on the race seats turning around isn't easy (especially with helmet/hans device on) so I'm thinking having it at my feet might be better - no turning needed.

needmoregarage im out of town working at the moment so I cant take pics. I used a regular wall mounted fire extinguisher holder and bolted it to the cargo area floor.

I have a Brey-Krause that I had mounted in front of the passinger seat which is kept back but the problem was every time someone got in the car they hit the release lever. I was going to mount it on the divider behind the seats(between) but it feels real flimsy.

You might want to look into a fire supression system. it's possible to operate from the drivers seat and will alow remote mounting of the bottle. that way it would not interfear with the seat room and be easy to operate
