Clarification on C6 trans/diff changes from 2005-2012................................

BASE C6

1. 2005, oddball year, 5 bolt diff and T56(also had an extra switch on trans for shutdown??), can be wired into other switch if newer trans used

2. 2006/2007 8 bolt diff and T56 27 spline

3. 2008-2012 8 bolt diff and TR6060 27 spline?? (2010-2012 retained the 27spline?)

Z51 2005-2009 had unique gear ratios

2010-2012 GRANDSPORT(same diff as Z06)

1. TR6060 30 spline, 30 spline Z06 diff

Same trans spec as Z06, but different gear ratios

2006-2012 Z06(all 30 spline trans/diff), Diff webbing noticeably stronger, internals different from base

2006/7 T56 w/ Z06 diff
2008-2012 TR6060

2009-2012 ZR1

TR6060 w/ unique ZR1 diff(case webs thicker/other internal changes??) trans also has unique gear ratios

Regardless of year and model all diff's are 3.42's

1. ALL Z06/Grandsports/ZR1 use 30 spline output shafts on trans w/ 30 spline diffs

2. ALL 2008up C6's use the 6060, besides the gear ratios and 27spline output found on the base C6, what other changes are there between Z06/ZR1/GS???

If anyone has the year to year changes or side by side pics and could post, that would be great

Either way, I have 2012 NEW GM Z06's diffs available here in CT
$2800 INSTALLED

BASE C6 CARS WILL NEED A 30 SPLINE TRANS OR 30 SPLINE MAINSHAFT INSTALLED

please call with any C6 motor/suspension/drivetrain needs

can you install a 30 spline output shaft in 4l65e in 05 c6 and cost of shaft , installation cost. thanks Dan

I believe that only the Grand Sport coupes with a manual trans have the Z06 rear but don't quote me.

But that's only for the manuals, not the automatics of course.

I didn't state in the OP; but I'm just interested in the T56 and TR6060's

Yes, all GrandSports have the 30 spline Z06 diff, not sure if internals differ in any way

Ok, I'd kind of figured that you were referencing only the manual transmissioned cars.
