Default MGW installed

Just installed my MGW shifter and have to say it is definitely noticeable

the throw is so much better and it practically makes it impossible to mis-shift

Pros:

Top quality
easy install
awesome performance

Cons:

took 3 weeks to ship
no blue loctite

all in all Thanks MGW cant wait to try it out at the track

My experience was the same but mine did come with blue loctite.

The shifter is truly incredible, rock solid and rattle free. If you EVER miss the 2-3 shift with this..........don't bother driving stick and switch to an A6

How simple is the install.... my mechanic skills go as far as changing the oil... Is this something I could do myself or should I have a mechanic install it?

Is it for the most part unbolt and bolt on. Do you know if anyone has an instructional video or thread for it? I really don't wanna mess this up.

Received and installed mine this afternoon. Just got back from the test drive and I could not agree more that the difference is noticeable and in some cases, 2nd to 3rd, a dramatic improvement. Super detailed instructional DVD made the install a snap. Well worth the time and money spent.

I am no engineer and I'm wondering why this shifter seems to be so much more positive, crisp, and short in the shifts. Is it simply the geometry of the shifter pivot points coupled with precise tolerances in manufacture? There must be more to it than that. Any mechanical engineers or just smart forum members that can explain it to me?

It's a very high quality piece, made to very tight tolerances. If you ask me...it's way under priced for what it is.

I had some questions about going to one of the shift ***** they sell to get rid of the rattle at high rpm's, and then come to find out I had the first version of the shifter...so of course I ask about the latest and greatest..a long story short I end up with there race ****, and the slick version 3 shifter for only a few bucks.

The rattle is gone as soon as you replace the stock **** with an MGW piece.

I installed mine in less than 1 hour and had the same concers you have about messing up my $40k car. The video that comes with it makes it fool proof so don't worry it will be easy.
