Forecast for wednesday is 78-80 and sunny. should make for a best DA of about 1700-1800 if they run long enough. I'm thinking about making some hits and see if I can squeak any more out of it. Any other ideas to eek a lil more out?

I have a non z51 model and took the front sway bar off. FYI it, along with the drop links and the 4 nuts weighs exactly 9.3 pounds. Perhaps the z51 has a heavier front sway
I have 21k on the odometer now
I will try the flash off idle this time and maybe locking the converter. I did notice it sliding into 3rd gear on the last few runs. I fully plan to put a new 3-4 clutch pack in it before our fall classic

Yeah I wouldn't expect too much ET reduction from the sway bar removal alone, but it certainly shouldn't hurt ya.

ran last night again. track was pretty crappy as was the weather. I think the DA started about 2300 and the best was about 1900. Spun as many times as I got down the track. My best was a 10.62@124
had a couple of decent 60's
1.411
1.406
that the second 1.406 that I've gotten so far
and on the last pass of the night I spun and got a 1.46 which gave me my second 10.64 of the night. Probably would have been good for a 10.590 if I could have stuck the launch. I also ran my best mph of 124.72 and 124.75. The trans is DEFINITELY sliding into third gear so in a few months I'll freshen it up to be ready for the november event.
I did get a video of it clearly pulling the front tires about 2-3 inches on one of my runs..... (so it REALLY did happen) hahahaha
It pulled the wheels then spun so I lifted after that

OMG! I tuned in on this thread on page one and somehow never recognized how much it continued until tonight. I just read all 12 pages and had a woody going for a while during the live track action.
Serious congrats there Norm. Even if it is a little late.
I have been following this thread for some time and would like to say great job!!! The quest for every 1/10 is like a drug addiction.
I personally like to run 1/8 mile not 1/4. I find 1/4 mile gives cars with more HP the advantage. Real racing to me is street light to street light. 1/8 mile is easier on your car and your trans! I have friends with force induction cars that can take me in the 1/4 but I kill them in the 1/8.
My best to date has been 6.6 sec 1/8 with a 1.4sec 60'. I have found my 60' is better if I launch with my mag ride control on TOUR! I run a pretty consistant 6.8 time in my daily drive around config.
My goal is to run a 6.4 on pump gas with no drugs or force induction. I am sure I could make it happen if I gutted the car and put on a set of skinnies. For now I am trying to see how far I can get with tuning and tweaking. To me it means more if you are all engine and pump gas
thanks guys! It took quite a few runs to go from the 10.61 to the 10.58. Now I know why those times stand so long. I will admit I was NOT going to stop til I got there. It did become an obsession and I only missed 1 wednesday night test n tune this entire season and that was only because I was out of town.
Crow, my 2 best 1/8 times were 6.69s
I will be making some changes to my car most likely in preparation for the MIR event this fall but I will stay in the ls2 internals category. I hope(and it might be a stretch) that in perfect weather(if it happens) that I might eek a 10.299 out of this thing. Thats a solid 3/10s to try to gain but I'm hoping that almost 2/10s will be from the weather difference. ..... Like Dennis says "its all BS til I can actually do it" But I will be aiming for that goal! I am almost positive that as long as the track will hold it in Nov. that I should see some 1.3x 60's

You are doing great!!! Just remember that those last few numbers are a beeetch and all the stars must line up to get them. It is frustrating when everything is perfect with the car, weather, etc then you get to the line and the car in front of you does a big John Force burn out with street tires. You already know you are screwed before you even start your run. Street tires pull the rubber right off the track and screw the grove up. Doing a burn out with street tires is a total wast of time. A mild spin to clean the tires is about the best they can hope for. It never fails you will see a guy with some 19" run flats deflate his tires and boil them down like he is going to get them to hook up. Or you have the guy who turned his AC off right before his run and he lays water all the way down the track. These are the same guys who are purging N2O into the air and beating on their chest because they can run in the 9 second range at the 1/4 mile.
This is my best run to date even though I lost. The car I ran was a full on gutted trailer car, he was spraying N2O and running race fuel. He beat on his chest after the race because he whooped my daily driver . I got him by over a car and had him until the end when he got me by a fender. I was pretty ticked off after the race because I HATE to lose and him bragging about whooping another Chevy just added salt. Well the old school guys that really run at the track just laughed their butts off at him because he thought he had just done something and a daily driver almost whooped him. They told me I had nothing to be mad about and that I should be pretty proud of what I am doing with a daily driver on all motor. Your car is putting down some pretty sick passes and dont let anyone tell you diffrent.
