Unless you are having spark issues or seeing visual damage of some kind I would leave well enough alone and follow the guidance set forth in the Owners Manual. For plugs its 100k miles. At 26k miles I'm sure they're fine.
i agree
only reason i changed wires/plugs was when i installed the headers, went with header studs and used the MTI wires and heat sleeving
i sold off the originals, only had 6800 miles on em and were perfect
I wouldn't mess with them, if you had 50K miles on the car I would change them out....just because they "can" last 100k miles doesn't mean they are performing well for that entire length of time.
I had our 2001 plugs changed at 50k miles, the dealer tech said they didn't need it at that point but the ones he changes at ~100k definitely do need it.
Also be careful which plugs that you put into it, when the time comes to change them. At 26k miles, you are good for a long time still yet. Some of the plugs out there will generate noise on the system which can indeed cause problems for other systems you aren't expecting...such as the charging system. Trust me, its true.
I'm always a fan of not fixing something that isnt broken. If you dont have issues then leave it alone.
This.
