Default LS2/LS3/LS7/LS9 throttle body differences

How do you tell the differences between those throttle bodies?
Are there even different versions of those within the engine series?
Is a TB on a crate engine any different?
Where exactly is the measurement taken that determines the size?
Is the bolt pattern always the same?

LS2 and 2008 LS3 are the same throttle body. 2009+LS3 and LS7 are the same I believe.

LS2 and 2008 LS3 have a silver throttle blade
2009+LS3 and LS7 have gold throttle blade.

They are not interchangeable

Bolt pattern is the same for LS2/LS3/LS7--I'm not sure about the LS9

I believe the measurement is taken at the opening shown here. (this is my throttle body on my 2008 LS3)

Mid 2008 ls3 cars switched from the silver blade ls2 TB to gold blade ls3 TB. They are not interchangeable as the blade rotates the opposite direction and more importantly the computer programming is different.

Other than this thread being nearly 9 years old, you'd need to define "Mid 2008" with a born date or serial number confirmation to ensure accuracy of the information.

Didn’t the 06-08 Z06 use the silver blade too?

Mid means middle. Could it be more accurate sure, but that doesn't mean it's not accurate. Middle of the 08 production run which is accurate. Also, your 9 years ago statement is of no substance. That's what this forum is about, helping people with their corvette ownership with sound information no matter how old is. I saw the original comment which may cause someone to buy the wrong throttle body, I know I wouldn't like buying the wrong one and I assume others as well so no matter how long ago, somebody could come across that and get bad info. Go troll somebody else.

Farmington, yes they did. I believe they switched to the gold blade in similar fashion to non zo6 versions but not 100% on that. So if you need an ls2 TB for an LS3 someone selling a silver blade Ls7(zo6) it will work, interchangeable.
