Default Low Beam HID problem

Hi all, first post on here and im hoping you guys can help me out. I have a 2006 C6 and recently my passenger low beam quit working. I looked up the right replacement from Sylvanias website and bought a pair to replace both the non working and old bulb (to save having to do it again on the working bulb). Anyway, I replaced the low beam fairly easy, even though those 2 torq screws werent the most fun, and was thinking pretty highly of myself until I turned on the lights and there was still no light! Frustrated, I checked both the relay and the fuses and everything is fine! I also checked to make sure that there was voltage to fuse and there is. Anyone have any suggestions besides checking every inch of the wire? Is there something else I am not checking??

Thanks!

It could be that the ballast has failed, if everything else is operational.

It's located on the underside of the headlight assembly.

There's a panel/opening below that you remove after you've gained access through the fender liner, as you did when you changed lamps.

Here's a couple pics that may help. The ballast is the shiny box in the middle of the pic of the upside-down headlight assembly.

Ok cool, for some reason I thought that they were built in. (The shiny box on the back of the bulb). Any good sources to purchase a ballast from?

The box on the base of the lamp is the igniter.

Check with Gene Culley at GMPartsHouse for this OEM part.

First you should confirm that you have voltage at the ballast input. If you check the voltage at the lamp, be very careful.

There have been many posts about defective fuse boxes. The wiring/connections on the interior/underside have been known to fail.

And make sure your connections at the headlight are not burnt or corroded.

Sorry you're having to deal with such a PITA with your 'new' car.

no you did right, that other was about 18 months old, starting this is fine!!

note: yes they are very expensive, you might consider doing a ballast swap, to first verify its out. like others say, might just be connection.
