Not quite as capable as a Tech 2 but a lot cheaper is the AutoEnginuity Package. It comes in two parts. The first is a generic OBDII application and the Second is an automaker specific application that does a lot of the things the automaker's service tools do. You can see the things the GM application does by looking at their web page. The two together will run you around $450 plus the laptop you need to run them. The GM application even does the same commands the Tech 2 does so you can command the various systems to do things to help in diagnosing a problem.
I haven't purchased it yet since I am waiting for a real need and want to get the latest software when that need comes. There are several people on the forum that have purchased it and some rave and others don't.
Gonna try the autoenginuity one for now. If thats not able to do what I need Ill look at a TECH 2 again. This seems to be a better option to work on other vehicles as well.
