strange soft - boot - eprom message when starting the car
Since a day of two when I start my C6 a strange thing is happening..
The dashboard indicator shows first: SOFT - BOOT then - EPROM after that the messages are gone and the vette is just like normal..
I just uploaded a video to youtube with this strange behaviour:
car is 100% stock..
Only problem that there is (for a longer time) is that the dashboard lighting is flickering...
I think a wire that is not connecting very well... But I don't think this is the problem..
fixed.... The reset button was stuck!!!
hahaha.. thnx anyway
Reset Button? Which/where? I can see if this "reset" button is used for diagnostics it would show the software and boot/revision number so it makes sense. Just wondering where and how it got stuck for future reference! ?? thanks
Our car started having the very same problem. Thankfully you guys came to the rescue through a Google search. No doubt the dealer would have lightened my wallet trying to figure out what was going on. I'm beginning to think that people may be getting DIC messages unrelated to the actual problem in more situations than this one. Perhaps GM's computer programmes need improvement so that the computer knows what to do with every situation that comes up. It obviously doesn't know what to do when the reset button sticks. Money saved by going on the internet for information more than pays my internet bill. Thanks guys.
35 mile run tonight with zero DIC messages.
