Default 2006 push button start issue

Have a 2006 that the push button start will not shut down but goes to accessory mode and then the doors won't open. I have to manually open them with the latch on the floor. Anyone out there having this issue? I am frustrated and the dealer says they have never heard of this issue. There is only 5000 miles on this car. I have just replaced the battery with and OEM battery.

Probably just a bad switch. You should only need to push and hold it down for like half a second. Past that, it'll go to accessory mode.

2006 with only 5K miles? Wow, I'm impressed!

This car will likely have all sorts of problems because it has sat mostly idle for 6 years.

Even if the switch is good, holding it to "Off" for more than a second or two will cause the car to go into Accessory. Everyone does it occasionally.

Once you confirm the vehicle's battery is good and fully charged, disconnect the negative battery cable for 1 minute and then reconnect. This will reset the BCM and the RCDLR module. If this this does not help, try replacing the battery in the fob, or try the other fob or try shuting down with the fob in the glove box slot.

Since you have a 2006, you do not have to shut down in reverse (manual transmission), but if you have an automatic, make sure the shift lever is fully engaged in the park position
