Default No Fob Detected ?

I just installed the jake lights in the doors, but I didnt just hook the power up to the floor lights I ran the wires through a switch, one of those nitrous outlet ashtray plates , every time I turn the switches to the on position it wont detect the key fob. Anyone have a solution to this, it seems kind of weird to me its only a switch how could it interfere .

i can tell you that typically when 'no fob detected' occurs, there is a simple interference causing it or fob battery is weak.

cell phone or charger or another device that is generating electrical interference will cause what you describe. , the bypass the switch, test without it, that would be the first step.

i am just grasping at straws. this is NOT an expert positive solution.

all that I installed was a light in the door ,that turns on by a switch. Should be no difference than any other switched source in the car.
