Default Garage door opener

I am trying to pair my garage remote door opener with my 05 but having no luck. I went by car owner’s manual step by step. I have a Chamberlain door opener. Have anyone had any luck with his type system.

note: if your opener hand controler doesnt use dip switches in it, you can totally ignore my post, also i have a 2011 so they may have changed the 'homelink transmitter'

i dont know that opener but in case its like mine, here is what i wrote and placed into my manual. my manual was wrong or at least incorrect in a way that messed you all up.

press 1&3 2-3 seconds
press 1&2&3 3-4 seconds
(lights blink quickly)
press 1&2&3 2-3 seconds
(lights blick slowly indicating ready for programming)
do dip setting presses opposite until done
press 1&2&3 2 seconds
(all lights on)
choose button you want to be opener and press it

(done)
the only part i aint sure about is where i wrote 'do dip setting presses opposite until done'.
i have to assume that the book indicates it all backwards or something. its been over a year since i made that note.. lol memory fails
i know i opened up the manual clicker and read the dip settings in it, wrote them down, and later figured i was pressing the settings totally backwards

good luck, again i dont know if yours is like mine , but above is what i had to do

If it is a Chamberlain that is newer (the remote will say "SECURITY+") then it definitely can be done. In an '05, you have the Homelink system. They have a very good helpline and can walk you through it. Look in your owners manual for the 800 number for Homelink.

Edit: sorry i have no clue what my opener is, but the manual calls for touching the memory button on back, i did not have to do that as I describe below.

i did my 06 today....

press 1 and 3 until it is blinking fast, that erases any previously programmed codes.

press the button you want to program, i programmed 1, until it is flashing slowly, about 30 seconds. ready to program

press the already programmed garage opener while holding your car button(button 1 in my case) and once the light is flashing fast that means it took the code.

thats all i did and it worked, i can open and close now from the vette.
