Grand Sport Cold air Intake water issue
I just installed a K&N cold air intake in my 2012 Grand Sport. Is there any concern about water getting in via the Grand Sport's front hood vent? The OE filter part had a cover and gasket that is either to force air into the OE filter or to redirect water that could flow in when driving in the rain. Is this a problem? Also, the removal of the OE part gets rid of the air capacitor. What did the capacitor do and is this necessary?

K&N doesn't make a CAI for any C6. All they sell are filter/filter box replacements. The air still comes from the same place and at the same temperature as stock. Nothing K&N sells will make your car more prone to ingesting water.

Have had a K&N on my 07 for five years with a VettAir scoop and never had a problem.
