Default Grand Sport Cold air Intake water issue

I just installed a K&N cold air intake in my 2012 Grand Sport. Is there any concern about water getting in via the Grand Sport's front hood vent? The OE filter part had a cover and gasket that is either to force air into the OE filter or to redirect water that could flow in when driving in the rain. Is this a problem? Also, the removal of the OE part gets rid of the air capacitor. What did the capacitor do and is this necessary?

You wont get enough water in there to cause any harm.

You won't get any water in there.

You removed the heimholtz resonator. It's for sound reduction, you don't need it.

K&N doesn't make a CAI for any C6. All they sell are filter/filter box replacements. The air still comes from the same place and at the same temperature as stock. Nothing K&N sells will make your car more prone to ingesting water.

Have had a K&N on my 07 for five years with a VettAir scoop and never had a problem.
