i just bought my 08 z06 and the rear hatch will only open with the key. i have done a search and cleaned the rear button. when i press any button to open the hatch i car hear the relay in the passenger foot well clicking. the fuse is good and i even tried swapping the relay for the fuel door relay. my next guess is to check and see if i am getting the signal to the rear of the car but i am not the best with electronics. my question is does anyone know what all of the wires going into the plug at the latch are responsible for and what type of signal i should b seeing. any help would b greatly appreciate because using the key every time is getting old fast lol
Does your car have the cargo shade installed or the net? Make sure they are not binding in the hatch latch. Mine did that in my C5 when I sold it and the dealership took two weeks to figure it out. LOL Everything would appear to work correctly if they used the key, try to use the button it would click but not open....Good Luck.
ok. can someone even post the schmatic for this section. i am shure i can walk myself through it.
Here a couple schematics I used when installing an auto pull down latch into my '06 Z06. The manual latch that you have is exactly the same as the manual latch in the convertible - that's why I've included that schematic for you:
Here's a link to the thread about installing the auto pull down latch - it may contain some pictures or info that might help. You have to scroll to about post# 45 or so before I get parts and start the installation:
thanks bob, that is exactly what i needed. and no i don't have the cargo shade in. i noticed that the fuse will blow if i try and push the button to open the hatch repeatedly back to back about 7-10 times, wondering if the coil in the hatch release is burnt out. il get into it tomm after work and post what i can find.
