2005 Starting Problem
I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me what could be wrong with my car. Sometimes when I push the start button it does not attempt to start. The gauges come up and everything, but there is no attempt to turn over the engine. It also usually gives the "service column lock" indicator. I have read about that problem, but mine seems different. I bought my 2005 about 4 years ago and this problem 1st occurred not to long after I bought it and has gotten progressively worse. At 1st when this happened I just released the clutch, pushed it back in and on the 2nd attempt it started no problem. This would happen maybe 1 time every 3 months or so and the car is an everyday driver. Just in the past few months it has gotten a lot worse happening maybe 1 of 3 times I go to start the car and now just releasing the clutch no longer works. Now I have discovered that if I disconnect the battery terminal and leave it off for about 15 seconds before reconnecting, then it starts like there was never a problem. Any advise would be appreciated. I have asked the dealer and they say they would have to see it happen.
Thanks,
Shaun

Do a search on the forum as someone recently came out with a relatively cheap bypass for this, vs a $600-1000 repair to actually replace it.
instead of spending $1000+ to have a shop repair your car (using the same troubled parts) you can just delete the column lock completely.
we have had this product out for 3 weeks now and have sold over 100 units with no problems or complaints (other than gm;s connectors are confusing)
takes less than 30 mins to install ( we can do it in less than 5 mins)
we have a install video to help you as well
