Go with the 1 7/8" tube diameter. The 1 3/4" are too restrictive. Do it!

I thought it was high as well but 1 yr ago I had a dyno run at another shop and it was also 396, so this shop baselined at 396 as well and 6 hours later we had the 458 after the install and tune. I watched him run 14 runs on it tuning it higher each time, it started out around 438. He said it was one of the strongest LS3's he had seen on the dyno, it was even 108 degrees outside that day. I have the dyno sheets that show it, I know that causes its own controversy as well.

If I knew how to upload the dyno graph I would but the picture hosting site does not recognize it as a picture from me scanning it into the computer so it wont upload. I am happy to post up if I get some advice how to do so from a scan.

Been there with our cantankerous fax machine, use your phone and take a picture of the graph and send it to an email address you can upload from.

i know there is a lot of debate about the header size to go with...but i went with 1 3/4 on my LS3 because i called LG motorsports and katech and both of them said on the LS3 it loses too much tq with the 1 7/8 headers. they said even if i do heads/cam or forced induction the 1 3/4 wont really be restrictive. so i put my trust in both of those two shops since they are pretty knowledgeable lol

Kooks said just the opposite on the LS3, all I know is this thing just rips through the PRM band a lot faster than it used to and you can feel a huge difference in power, I had the same problem making the decision between the two sizes but ended up with the bigger size and don't regret it.

yea mine feels much better with the headers, intake and tune. i guess its all in opinions haha i just put my trust in the guys at LG motorsports since they have seen first hand what works better...but i dont think its a huge difference between the two regardless of which is better haha

Yeah ive heard the 1 3/4 are better for torque... and i would take pound feet over HP any day. So much more fun.

Plus, im sure both really open the car up. Unless someone has switched from 1-3/4 to 1-7/8... the debate will never end.

Its a toss up on size but you can see from my dyno, I didn't lose any low torque, I went from 386 to 442 (max)and you can feel a huge difference. Now at 3300 there was a small point you cant see in the graph due to the overlay but the spread was a little lower but it never 'lost' torque and certainly made a nice gain throughout the rpm range.
