I just bought a 2012 GS the stirring wheel is vibrating and I also have a humming noise coming from the passenger side dash when I hit around 75mph. I’ve taken it in to get it fixed 3 times it has 8,000 miles on it and still no go. I had it in with the dealer for a whole week this time and all they did was put on new back tires. I had after market rims put on I told the dealer all this happend before I put them on but I might have put them on before all this started .Now I have the OEM's back on and same thing and the dealer still didnt fix the issue.I need guidance on this I just don’t want them to tell me that its my falt if they find something big if I take it into the shop AGAIN for the 4th time. I havent hit any bumps or even wreaked the thing.Below is what has been done.
-Wheels have been rebalanced about 4 times at discount with aftermarket and original rims.(told them its not a balace problem but they did it for free helped for about a day but problem came back each time)
-First time I took to Chevrolet they just rebalanced them(they said that their way was diffrent this was after the first time I took it in to discount, 2nd time same thing and now they only replaced the back tires it seems as if they know that something is wrong with the car but are just letting it slide. Help me plz!
If you are in the Milwaukee area, and I think you are, I have a set of tires and wheel, not GS that I drove to over 120 at Road America with no vibration, if you want to try them.
What I would do is, call GM and talk to a customer rep and tell him or her your problem, they will look it up, and set up a date to meet you at a dealership(it does'nt have to be where you purchased the car)and try to get the problems solved there.
Good luck and keep us informed.
You might think this is a joke, but try removing the rotor retention clip used by the factory to hold the rotors....we've fixed this issue a bunch of times for guys at the shop. See this thread for more info, especially post #6:

The humming noise is likely caused by the plastic strip below the windshield vibrating. I believe there is a TSB on this, but some have put a dab of glue to fix it themselves. Search for buzzing in the C6 general discussion and you should find more info.

humming/buzzing at highway speeds, on passenger side dash area, almost always caused by piece under wipers. put some tape on it so its held firmly against windshield to test if noise goes away. fyi... reason for the hum/buzz is that the piece is loose, cracked, warped or even not fastened down at all

This is well worth a try. I ran into this issue when I put my CCWs on my 2005. Vibration was terrible from these little bastards. Pull the wheels and take them off. It is well worth your time.
Are you guys sh**ttin me...those little circlip doohickys will actually cause wheel vibration?? Wish I'd pulled mine off when I last had the wheels off, but they looked way too light to make a difference. Very surprised.
Those little doohickys prevent the aftermarket wheel from seating against the rotor. It's not the additional weight of the doohickys that's the problem. The OEM wheels have a cast recessed area to clear the doohickys so when the OE wheels were put back on the car, that should have corrected the problem. But it didn't. So there is something other then the doohickys causing the vibration.
