Default So i have an idea.........

So ive been looking for power combinations for my car and its hard to piece it together. here goes, it would be awesome if i could get some input from a veteran somewhere out there.... i have an 05 C6 Z51.

So. This is what i was thinking....Doing it all at once.

1. Some type of cam. I would like a rough idle and power. What Kind?
2. Headers. What kind, Brand?
3. Take out my stock cats. i already have borla exhaust, can i leave the borla on the rear and take the cats out or do i need a full kit? if so what kit?
4. Chip. What kind of chip is needed.
5. Supercharger. Was thinking of the edelbrock 600 hp one....The 1594. Comes with a chip.

Is there anything im missing? I want it to sound mean at idle

........

When you buy headers, they will come with their own X-pipe. You can choose to buy with or without cats then. Look into Kooks, AR and LG headers, all top quality. Many have used OBX with good results and they are a bit cheaper.

With all those mods, you will need to take the car to a professional tuner. There aren't chips anymore, the tuner will simply hook up a laptop to the diagnostic port and reprogram the ECU for optimum fuel and spark.

Is there a reason you are going with a cam and a supercharger? Many are happy with one or the other with the latter being the best power adder. The SC install can be installed without going into the engine in about the same amount of time as a cam install (with 3-4 times the power).

Please provide additional info such as intended use for the car (drag strip, road course, street driving) and the Hp goals you are trying to attain. There are dozens of guys on the forum who can help with your build assuming they have the information above.

One more question. ....... is it the 4 speed auto or the six speed manual as the 05 has the weakest rear of the entire C6 gen.

you could just save some money and do a cam only and headers...or heads/cam and headers with an offroad x pipe that hooks up to your borla exhaust. you will get decent power that way and LG motorsports has some good cam choices for you. you can call them and they will answer your questions and help you a ton.
if you want a ton of power then you will need a blower cam and a supercharger or procharger, but then you will also need a better clutch to handle that much more hp. the list goes on and on haha. and you want to get it all professionally installed and dyno tuned. and beware that if you do a mean cam in the car you will lose some driveability at low rpm
