Hello, I have a 2005 Chevy Corvette C6. I have had the car for over a couple of years. Car has ran great, with no problems until a couple of weeks ago. Long story short. Car turned off while I was driving. I took it to a electric service mechanic and recommended for me to change the fuel pump since the engine kept on cranking. Said it was the fuel pump. Got that replaced, car ran find and a week later car turned off again. So I know this is not a fuel pump issue anymore since the same thing is happening again. I did notice that my gas gauge is not working properly anylonger.
Line of events:
1.) Car turned off while driving a week ago.
2.) Took it to a mechanic and had fuel pump replaced.
3.) A week later the car turned off while driving again.
4.) Gas gauge not reading properly at this point.
5.) Added gas, and the car turned on fine with about 1 gallon.
-Drove to fill it up at the store and car still had almost a full tank of gas. Was only able to add 3 total gallons.
6.) Any input is greatly appreciated at this point...
will be watching this thread to see what you come up with , experiencing some of the same isues on and off for a yr, dealership has replaced fuel pump and sender, wireing harness, ground block, and also the main computer (ecm)? i also purchased the racetronics harness and may have jeramy formato replaced the oem harness as i believe it's some kinda of voltage loss, as fuel pressure drops as well, crazy gremlins but iv'e lived with this for a yr and know it will pass if i restart the car or let it cool some will be watching what comes of this!!! good luck
When I bought my car the gas gauge was reading on empty even when it had a full tank. I didn't have a problem with car shutting off though. Took it the dealer and had the software updated which fixed my problem to the tune of $100.
