The current LSA crate motor is the cadillac cts-v version. On sale for just over $11k. Now the Camaro ZL1 is coming out with the exact same motor with a slightly larger supercharger. This motor is rated at 580hp. When is this coming to the crate engine market? I understand they thru out the titanium parts from the LS-9 motor and sodium filled valves and replaced with forged steel to keep the price down. The block is a LS-9 block and not a LS3. The LSA 556hp is a great motor for the price, but I would like to hold out for the LSA 580hp version.
Any news?
Looks like the CTS-V LSA is 9:0 compression and the ZL1 LSA is 9:1 compression.
Do you actually mean 9.0:1 versus 9.1:1?
I don't think one can have a x:0 compression ratio?

Interesting thing though, The ZL1 LSA is only rated to 6200 rpm and the CTS-V LSA is rated to 6600 rpm????
I'd really thought (assumed) that the two engines (ie: the CTS-V's LSA and the ZL1's LSA) were identical engines with just slightly different power ratings due to slight exhaust system and 'factory tuning/programming' differences. But maybe not.
