I'm considering purchasing a set of coilovers for my ride. The car is driven to work when it is driven at all. I'm not into auto-x or road racing and rarely visit the 1/4 track. I mainly want COs for slighty improved street handling AND confort.
Would I be able to get what I want by swithcing to COs over the leaf/shock conbo or should I just get some Bilstein HD shocks and call it a day?
if you dont drive aggressively and are looking for a smoother ride...i dont think coilovers are the way to go. maybe a swaybar/shock pkg would be more suited look up the johnny o' connel pkg from phadt

100% agree. While you will improve handling greatly with coil overs you will sacrifice ride quality.
Here is what I did to our daily driver non autocross coupe. Installed Z06 Sways (I run 325 out back, other wise the Z51 sways work great). For shocks I put on Koni FSDs and they are very good, not harsh around town and firm up under load
I put on the HD Bilsteins and it stiffened it up a little. I just changed out those crappy runcraps 3 weeks ago and went w/ Hankook Ventus V12's and really like them. As soon as I pulled out of the tire shop I knew I made the right choice and I had a lot of treadlife left on the GY's. It rides so much smoother now and holds a lot better in aggressive turns, like you really have rubber under the car now.

That's going to be my plan of attack. Thanks for your input!
