Default Stall vs. Headers

Looking at getting some work this week on the ride. I'm on a tight budget, but I'm thinking of a heads/cam job with a ported tb. Oh course i will be getting new springs and adding rockers while in there.

But, should I get a full cat back to include headers, or get a stall converter?

I already have a BB exhaust on the end and a honker air intake.

Please help, I need to know whats best.

Its a 2006 C6 with Z51 and Auto6 trans.

Thanks

If your worried more about Drag times the stall can't be beat as a single change to improve your ET!

Do you think a person doing more track races should focus on a stall? I don't plan on doing alot if drag racing.

If you don't drag race the car and don't get a cam that requires a big bump in idle speed (requiring a looser converter) then I would skip a stall.

This is coming from someone who had an aftermarket converter in his 02 firebird, 99 WS6 Formula and current 07 vette.

The looser converter will need a very good tranny cooler for any type of track racing.

Excluding nitrous a stall is the best bang for the buck on an A4 or A6. Especially if you are going to install cam & heads.
