Help. For the last few months, my switch on the door labeled 1- exit-2 has been malfunctioning. Nothing has been changed recently to cause this. The memory function always worked geat previously.
What happens is, the memory of the seat, mirror, radio, a/c preferences that are stored particular to fob 1 or 2 are not being remembered.
When I set everything up and push and hold the #1 button, before it beeps to accept it, my a/c and radio shut off.
Then it beeps twice like it accepted it. But it doesn't save the settings because the next time I get back in the car, they are all reset to default from the factory.
I pulled the door panel and even replaced the switch with the buttons and it still does this.
You have a memory module under your seat that is either bad or has wires that have been kinked or cut. The module is attached to the seat foam support wires. You'll have to look past the lumbar bladder and seat heater module to see it. It should be the only black box in there.
Unfortunately you'll have to pull the seat to see it, and make sure you either disconnect the battery or pull the airbag fuse a fee minutes before you start unplugging things.
Good luck, I went through this my self but my seats wouldn't even move with the switch.
Same here, and it's a 2012. The first time you want to set new settings when using the other key, as soon as you press the appropriate button, everything resets to the previous settings, even though you're still pressing the damn thing. WHen it beeps, it obviously records the previous settings again. You have to set everything all over again, and then it takes it. And you CANNOT set anything on the other fob memory. In other words, if you're using fob #1, you can only use memory #1 and the middle one. As soon as you press the #2 button with #1 fob, it'll go back to those settings over and over again.
What really pissed me off is if you change any settings and forget to press the stupid memory, they can revert back to the memory settings. This is a royal PITA with the stereo, because you have to reset EVERY FREAKING STATION, rather than the mode, be it XM1, FM1, etc. Oh well. Once we learn the quirks, we should have an easier time .
