I just finished building a roll bar and installing in an 05 vert.I probably put the top up and down about 50 times during the process. I just finished putting all back together and now the doors wont open from the outside or the inside and the red security light on the door flashes twice when you try to open the door. When I hit the unlock button on the fob it appears to unlock them.. It just wont open them. Also the tonneau cover of the power top goes down to latch then pops back up a bit and constantly keeps going up and down(cycling) over and over about a half inch. None of this happened until I was done. Any ideas?.
Battery is not dead. after entering by the cable emergency latch the car does start with no issues.
unhooked battery for 2 mins.. no change.
also noted doors dont open from the inside either except with the emergency handle

Just spoke to the service dept manager at the dealership a mile from my house. I will drive it to him tomorrow at lunch and he will do a quick scan then we go from there... I don't like driving anyone else's car... The owner was very understanding and is ok with me doing that.
A long shot here but if you had the battery unhooked, did you re-index the windows? I know the top will not work untill you do. Wish I could help.

I sure did. Top wouldn't even try to move until I did that. It has me baffled. If the scan doesn't show anything I will make sure the seats aren't clamped down on the wire harness. I was pretty careful to avoid that.
I can't help with the vert door issue, but I'm pretty sure you're going to want to convert that door bar to a swing out real soon. PM me for a source if you need it.
I assume you'll be adding the cross bar for the harness too. I'm currently looking into making harness pass-through slots in my OEM seats for those times I'm too lazy to swap to my race seat.
You're got that car running unbelieveably quick. I'm majorly impressed.

That car in the pic is not mine.. I built that bar from scratch sunday and finished it up tues. I don't plan on ever putting one in mine... Too much weight...lol
There is a cross/ harness bar in there. It runs across behind the waterfall. You can barely see it in the pic.
I took that car to the Chevy dealer today at lunch and the tech2 said the BCM was good and functional. That means tonight I'm ripping the seats and carpet back out to look for a damaged wire or two. The service dept foreman spent over an hour screwing with that thing and helping me and didn't charge me anything. The scan showed it wasn't gettin a signal from the closer switch to the BCM(there are 3 switches on the latch control) He gave me a wire diagram so I know what color wire to search for. He wasn't sure about the door opening situation but thinks it could have to do with the tonneau not being closed. I'm pretty sure I was opening the doors while the cover was partially open as I was building the cage so I'm not getting my hopes up on the door issue.

Norm I think you have a tonneau switch out of adjustment which is causing this problem.
I'd focus on the switch that tells the car the tonneau is closed. I think the car thinks the tonneau is open and thus it won't let the doors open.
Also try to put up the parking brake.
The car is smarter than we are, for example, as you may know, you can't open your trunk if your tonneau is ajar, and vice versa. It bings three times if you try.

Are you hearing any bings?
p.s. man you do some nice work. really nice work!
No bings and the tech2 said the bcm didn't see the switch operate even when we manually flipped the switch back and forth. On the other hand the tech2 DID see when we pushed the door buttons but the door opening module did not. I'm hoping that it's a damaged wire because that's a free fix for me
