Clutch fluid
YEAH!!!!!
2005 C6...got a question..the resorvoir for the clutch fluid is a little low, what should I put in there, the manual says GM brand brake fluid..can I use any DOT brake fluid?
Thanks!
Congrats on your new to you Vette - you're in the right place to get answers to just about any questions about your car!!
Here's a link to my fellow Ranger Ranger's excellent info about our clutch fluid. Use his method to swap in fresh clutch/brake fluid and you'll keep your clutch hydraulics happy. It only takes of couple minutes to take out the old stuff, put in new fluid, and pump the pedal:

The GM stuff in the clutch is a Super DOT 4 fluid, but I think in Ranger's data he talks about Prestone DOT 4.
Prestone DOT 4 is cheap (about $3 for a 12 oz bottle at Walmart) and works great - I use it in my Z06 for the street and track!!
The brake system comes from the factory with DOT 3 fluid, and the clutch Super DOT 4. Many of us that run track events use a higher boiling point DOT 4 in the brakes, and many just use the same DOT 4 in the clutch.
If you're just sticking with DOT 3 in the brakes for street driving, the Prestone DOT 4 is a good way to go in your clutch.
Under no circumstances put the silicone based DOT 5 in either system!!!

Good luck - and welcome!!!
Bob
