I know this subject has been covered hundreds of times but i can't find anything that resembles my problem. I received the "No FOB Detected' in the DIC a couple of weeks ago. First thing I did was change the battery in the FOB. (The battery in the 06 Convertible is an Optima Red Top which is less than a year old) This didn't solve the problem. Next I completely reprogramed all the FOBs using the long method. This didn't fix the problem either. Next I purchased a new FOB # 1 ( the faulty FOB) and again completely reprorgamed all the FOBs using the long method. The problem seemed to be resolved. No problems for about a month or so. Then I got the "No FOB Detected" message again today, despite the fact that I had the new FOB #1 in my pocket. When I removed the FOB from my pocket and placed it in the cup holder the message went away and the car started.
At this point I'm beginning to suspect the Boost Case I'm using on my IPhone is interfering with the signal from the FOB since it was in the same pocket as the FOB. When I tried starting the car without the Iphone and Boost Case in my pocket everything seems to work fine.
Has anyone had real world experience with cell phones interfering with the FOB signal? I've read somewhere that this can be an issue but I'm looking for verification from someone who has experienced the same problem. I hope the resolution is a simple as carrying the FOB in my other pocket rather than some type of ghosty electrical problem.
If you ever notice a decrease in the keyless access
transmitter range, try doing one of the following:
• Check the distance. You may be too far from your
vehicle. You may need to stand closer during rainy
or snowy weather.
• Check the location. Other vehicles or objects may
be blocking the signal. Take a few steps to the left
or right, hold the transmitter higher, and try again.
• Check to determine if battery replacement is
necessary. See “Battery Replacement” under
Keyless Access System Operation on page 2-5. • Check to make sure that an electronic device such
as a cellular phone or lap top computer is not causing
interference.
