Ready to do some work to my A6 trans (replace). Is this something I can do in my garage without a lift?
Any advice/ tips ?
thanks.

It is very doable. Many of us have done it without a lift. Just do a search - and many even have pics. Subfloor has a good write up. Check it out.

Yup, very easy to do with basic hand tools, transmission jack, jack stands, and a little elbow grease.

Does anyone have Subfloor's write-up? I see it mentioned all the time, never seen it.

It's not an A6, but here is slick shoes write-up.
I prefer to pull the drivetrain as one big unit, but if you're just needing access to the rear end or transmission, this is a great option. I just pulled my diff last night and start to finish it took about 2 hours.
