I know the answer. Your BCM located in the passengers floor board is bad. It looks like a fuse block. I just had to replace mine in my 08 Z. It takes the input from the brake light position sensor and reverses it. If you push the brake in the brake lights will go off for about 4 seconds. You need both pieces replaced. The brake light position sensor has to be calibrated using the tec II. If not it will not work correctly.
