Default High oil pressure?

I have a 2009,Z51,6 speed stick.I noticed my oil pressure at about 35-40MPH is at 60.Is this exceesively high? I believe it should be around 40.Any ideas?I am thinking the oil pressure gauge took a dump.Rod

Need a little more info. What temp was the oil? What gear/rpm were you at/is that while accelerating? Personally, I don't think that's too high. As I've posted before, mine idles @ 65-70 cold (both 0W-30 and 0W-40), will run up to and just over 80lbs while warming up in normal street driving, and then will run @ 50-55lbs at an oil temp of @175-180 at highway speeds. Even at oil temps of @ 210-220 I've never seen oil pressure below 45lbs at idle.

I don't know if the previous owner shimmed the oil pump, but I know he was a damn fine mechanic and did the Katech cam, Comp Cam trunnion upgrade, and PSI valve spring upgrade right. I'd rather be running what some consider a bit higher than "normal" than low. There definitely seems to be a wide margin for what's considered normal when it comes to this subject. Lots of other threads on it.

Well, I'm no expert, but have been around and working on cars for 30+ years. IMHO, you're ok. A bit higher than average, maybe, but I wouldn't think it's excessive. Any idea how high it would go if you ran it up to 4-5K rpm's at that oil temp? Was watching another forum members in-car track video yesterday, and at oil temps of 220-245 degrees, if I remember right, he was running @ 55-65 lbs and was nearly always running over 4K rpm.
